Fiona Godfrey
Fiona Godfrey trained and worked as a lawyer in the UK. She has over two decades of experience in EU and global public health advocacy and started her health career as a consultant to the EU Commission on tobacco control legislation (1998). Other roles have included EU Policy Director for the European Respiratory Society (2000-2008), Director of Public Affairs at the European Association for the Study of the Liver (2013-2018) and Secretary General of the European Public Health Alliance from 2019 to 2020. Fiona served as a member of the Cancer Mission Board of the EU Commission from 2019-2021 where she focused on prevention actions and citizens’ engagement. Her policy experience is very broad and covers tobacco control, clean air, food and alcohol, access to medicines and EU research and trade policy. She also served for 3 years as an alternate member of the DG Trade TTIP advisory group.
