Alcohol concern: Alcohol and young people: A toolkit

Supporting vulnerable young people at risk of alcohol-related harm.

'Alcohol and young people: A toolkit supporting vulnerable young people at risk of alcohol related harm' provides guidance on supporting young people who are experiencing, or at risk of, alcohol-related harm. It has a particular focus on young people in the looked-after system and those with special educational needs.

The guidance is primarily for workers who are not alcohol specialists. However, sections of the toolkit are also relevant to specialist alcohol and drug staff and commissioners.

The toolkit is the result of a collaboration between Calling Time - the South West Alcohol Improvement Programme and Alcohol Concern. It builds on relevant policy, research and guidance and is informed by consultation with a number of professionals and young people from across the South West and in particular from Torbay.

You can download the toolkit which has been kept as brief as possible.

A fuller version with references and more detailed evidence will be available from Alcohol Concern. Please contact consultancy@alcoholconcern.org.uk for more details.
